High Voltage XLPE Insulated Power Cable

It is used to transmit and distribute power in power transmission and distribution system of 37kV or lower. It is generally applied to the fields including power, construction, mines, metallurgy, petrochemical indusry and communication in complete replace of oil immersed paper insulated power cable and in partial replace of PVC insulated power cable.

Application:

High-voltage cables generally consist of one or three conductors, insulation materials, and a sheath structure. High-voltage cables and low-voltage cables differ in that they have an additional inner layer in the insulation jacket to control the electric field around the conductor. For circuits operating at relatively high voltages between conductors, a conductor shield can surround each insulated conductor. In this way, the electrical stress of the cable insulation can be balanced, and unnecessary losses of the cable can be reduced.

Construction:

Voltage: 35kv-220kv

Conductor: Class 2 copper or aluminum conductor, compacted or segment strand to BS EN 60228 (previously BS 6360)

Conductor Screen: Extruded semi-conductive XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene)

Cross-section: 150-800mm2

Insulation: XLPE(Cross-Linked Polyethylene)

Insulation Screen: Semi-conductive XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene)

Separator: Water swellable semi-conductive tape

Screen: Copper wire screen, with a counter helix of copper tape

Separator: Water swellable tape

Sheath: HDPE (High Density Polyethylene)(To be specified at time of order. Other options available)

Maximum Conductor Temperature In Service: (Operating temperature-continuous operation) +90 °C

Short Circuit Temperature: +250 °C

Operating Temperature: -30 °C to 90 °C

Standards:

IEC 60840, IEC 60287, IEC 62067, ICEA S-108-720 and AEIC CS9.

Using features:

1. Rated voltage: Uo/U: 26/35kV, 21/35kV, 12/20 kV (24 kV), 8.7/10kV, 8.7/15kV, 6/6kV, 6/10kV.

2. No. of core: Single-core, Three-core.

3. The highest allowed operating temperature of conductor for long-term working is 90℃. In short-circuit (Max. Long-term is no more than 5 seconds). The highest temperature for conductor is no more than 250℃.

4. D.C Resistance of the conductor complies with the stipulations of GB/T3956-1997.

5. The environment temperature should be no lower than 0℃ when lay. Otherwise it should be preheated.

6. The cable is laid without horizontal drop limit. The Min. Bending radius of three-core cable should be no smaller than 12 times of cable outer diameter.

7. Working Frequency Voltage Test:.

For cable with Uo of 3.6kV or lower: 2.5Uo+2kV/5min without puncture.

For cable with Uo of 3.6Kv~18kV: 3.5Uo/5min without puncture.

For cable with Uo of 21kV and 26 kV: 2.5Uo/30min without puncture.

8. Partial Discharge Test: The discharge volume should be no more than 10pC under 1.73Uo for the cable.

 

Delivery Requirements

If cable is packed in circle,its length should be 100m long.If it is packed in bundle,its length should be no less than 100m.The short cable which are no less than 20m are permissible to delivery.The quantity of short cable should be no more than 10% of the whole delivery.If mutual agreement is made,everything will be done according to the agreement.
